Week 5 Review

February28

This week students further explored how they could be responsible and accountable for their learning by selecting their own tasks during reading time. Students responded well to be given a voice in their learning.
When looking at place value in maths, we viewed the world population clock and were amazed by how quickly our population is growing. The students further explored statistics on this site and were intrigued by the fact that at 10am on the day we looked, $81 million had already been spent on video games on that day alone!
On Friday we finished our week by participating in school’s Clean Up Australia Day. We walked to Darebin Creek where the year 5s worked with year 1 buddies to clean up our local area. We collected over 1,400 pieces of rubbish. It was an amazing way to help our environment.

Yeah I agree with you Marcus.
It was pretty fun. It was also good because we helped the environment.
